No Admittance: Standing at the Threshold of Society (working title)

Human beings, by nature, divide themselves into groups based on commonalities with one group rising as dominant, thus controlling less dominant groups. These marginalized groups suffer needlessly under constraints imposed on them. This thesis examines how marginalized communities within the USA have been segregated from the greater Society and the resulting psychological trauma on the individual person.

The accompanying project illustrates the story of one mixed race, gender non-conforming individual’s struggle navigating Societal trials and tribulations all while contending with depression and anxiety, by using separate audio and visual compositions to create an immersive installation.
